Racing Tips – Boxing Day Best Bets for Caulfield and Randwick

Jacquinot - Horse Racing Tips

Boxing Day racing comes from Caulfield where hot and blustery whether awaits, while at Randwick conditions will be magnificent.

Best Bet

6. Rumours Abound
Caulfield R3 (12.15pm)

Rumours Abound comes down to Melbourne off the back of a terrific last start run at Canterbury where he chased home Gerringong, an unbeaten filly from the Waterhouse/Bott stable who looks bound for big things. Rumours Abound should be able to lead here with Mantua being the only other real source of speed, and the fitness edge should hold the mare in good stead late.

Recommended Price: $3.30
Confidence Level: 4.5/5

More Racing Tips

5. Stupendous
Caulfield R1 (11.15am)

Stupendous is working through her grades nicely with three straight wins, the most recent of which was an easy victory at Cranbourne. She is stepping up in trip again but comes in nicely with the claim for Logan Bates. Looks well placed to win again and great value to upset the favourite.

Recommended Price: $3.00
Confidence Level: 4/5

1. Dashing
Caulfield R7 (2.25pm)

Dashing looks well over the odds in the Lord Stakes. He comes off terrific back to back runs, placing in the Cranbourne and Werribee Cups, where in both races he was a sitting shot late off a brutal tempo. This should be run at a more measured pace and he is certainly going well enough to pinch a race like this.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

4. Ashford Street
Caulfield R8 (3.00pm)

Veteran galloper Ashford Street is a prolific winner and he tends to do his best racing over the 1100m trip and at Caulfield – at least over the bigger track. Freshened up since the spring, he comes off an excellent jumpout win at Camperdown and looks attractively weighted here with 58Kg.

Recommended Price: $5.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5

6. Storm The Ramparts
Randwick R6 (4.40pm)

Storm The Ramparts is first up here and the form out of his last prep is outstanding against the likes of Jedibeel, Lavish Empire and more. Joe Pride’s gelding has been trialling up nicely for his reappearance and can prove a class above first up.

Recommended Price: $2.50
Confidence Level: 4/5

11. Townsend
Randwick R7 (5.20pm)

Townsend blew his chances when he missed the start in the ATC Cup – his previous win came leading all the way – but under the circumstances he did a great job to run home strongly for third. If that was a one off he can jump to the front here and with a much better run prove extremely hard to beat.

Recommended Price: $3.50
Confidence Level: 4/5
