Monday’s racing tips come from Cowra in New South Wales and York in Western Australia. Both venues are expecting clear weather and a firm surface for racing.
Best Bet
Cowra 2/11 Boongarra Girl
Boongarra Girl simply got too far back last start when dropping in distance at Orange, but from the inside draw ‘Choc’ Cavallo should be able to take up a forward position, similar to her very good performances this campaign at Bathurst. Look for her to sit behind the leaders and be a little too strong late for Orreza who looks a query to run out a strong 1200m.

More Racing Tips
Cowra 1/6 Bracewell
Bracewell will find this far easier than recent contests in the provincials at Gosford and Newcastle. Winona Costin should put him right on the speed from barrier five at a track where racing on pace is all important. In a contest that lacks depth, that should be enough to get him on the board for a first career win.
Recommended Price: $4.00
Confidence Level: 3.5/5
Cowra 6/7 Son of Spartacus
With co-favourite Blitzar likely to find things difficult from the wide draw and Zoulogist looking well and truly short enough, Son of Spartacus certainly has strong each way appeal. The last start Tumut Cup winner should get a nice run on the speed and the prospect of a firm surface is very much to his favour. Good play at odds.
Recommended Price: $10/3.30
Confidence Level: 3/5
York 5/7 Juliette
The Todd Harvey stable is on fire at present and he looks capable of producing yet another winner here in Juliette. The ex-Kiwi mare put the writing on the wall first up with a good second placing at Mount Barker behind Sneaky Fox, who franked the form by coming out and bolting in again at his next start. The extra trip here suits Juliette and she has been in the quinella three times from six starts second up.
