It is stunning that the Broncos aren’t more heavily favoured as these are two teams heading in very opposite directions. After dropping their opening two games, Brisbane won seven straight to claim the minor premiership. Over that run the Broncos have hit 44 points three times while they have scored 28 in six of seven. After the Sharks won six straight to kick off the year, they have lost the last three, including a horrid 12-10 loss to the Tigers in the final round. The Sharks have lost Holli Wheeler to suspension. This is going one way and one way only.

That is a lot of uncertainty to bring to bring into a final and the finals have not been kind to John Strange’s team. The Roosters have finished Top 2 the last two seasons and lost in the semi, each time as a huge favourite. Newcastle have hit 34 in four of their last five and look huge odds.
