NRLW Tips – NRL Women’s Preview Round 2 2024

NRL Weekly Tips

The 2024 NRLW season opened up with a ripping week and we move to Round 2 with every game critical in just a nine-game season.

Raiders v Knights

Knights -7.5
Line

Newcastle got the points in their opener with title favourites the Roosters, absorbing plenty of pressure. They all but covered were it not for the utter stupidity of the two starting props. Canberra blitzed the Tigers 32-12. These two have only met once with the Knights winning by eight. Newcastle are a different class and confident they can win big on the road.

Tamika Upton Try/Shanice Parker Try
Same Game Multi

Tamika Upton has 19 tries in 29 games in the NRLW.

Shanice Parker scored six tries in 11 games last season.

Titans v Tigers

Titans -14.5
Line

This is the best team in the NRLW against the worst with the best having home field advantage in a stadium that will likely be very full. The Titans did the job 18-10 on the road to the Dragons in the opener while the Tigers were awful losing 32-12 to the Raiders. The Titans won 16-4 in their only meeting and it should be bigger on Saturday.

Same Game Multi

Jamie Chapman Try/Evania Pelite Try
Same Game Multi

Jaime Chapman is an elite tryscorer with 16 tries in 24 NRLW matches.

Evania Pelite is a beast with the ball who has six tries in her last 12 NRL appearances.

Eels v Sharks

Eels +4.5
Line

The Eels stunned the Broncos in the opener with the preseason wooden spoon favourites dominating perennial heavyweights Brisbane 22-10. They will be hampered by the loss of hooker Reuben Cherrington for the remainder of the season but the addition of Steve Georgallis has added a level of professionalism the Eels desperately need. The Sharks did nothing wrong in their 14-0 win over the Cowboys but the attack against looks stuttery so would rather take the points.

Zali Fay Try/Georgia Ravics Try
Same Game Multi

Zali Fay is a speedster who has five tries in 16 games and scored in the season opener.

Georgia Ravics is among the favourites to top the try tally this year and scored two in Round 1.

Roosters v Broncos

Roosters -4.5
Line

Brisbane have become an immediate lay team after that showing in Round 1. They no longer dominate talent, particularly of the Queensland variety, and they are distinctly lacking talent in the spine. Hayley Maddick is close to the worst fullback in the competition while Skyla Adams is awful. The Chooks have a few injury concerns but Sammy Bremner has stepped out of retirement to wear the No.1 jersey and they looked very strong through the middle last week. They can win this and win it well.

Same Game Multi

Jayme Fressard Try/Mele Hufanga Try
Same Game Multi

Jayme Fressard has 11 tries in 14 games for the Tricolours.

Mele Hufanga topped the try tally last season and will be looking to atone for a quiet first game of 2024.

Cowboys v Dragons

Dragons +2.5
Line

The Cowboys were poor last season and don’t appear to have improved at all. The were blanked in the season opener. The Dragons have the only genuine star on the field and they managed to break down the Titans last week.

Same Game Multi

Teagan Berry Try/Racene McGregor Try
Same Game Multi

Teagan Berry possesses elite speed and it has led her to become the greatest tryscorer in history with 22 tries in 24 games.

Racene McGregor is decidedly not a tryscorer but she looked sharp in the opener and the Cowboys are poor defensively.
