New South Wales made the most important change they could from last year – they moved on from the shocking Kylie Hilder and handed the reins to premiership winning coach John Strange.
Strange has an outstanding record at the Roosters with a 25-9 record and two premierships in four seasons. After years of moronic selections, Strange has made some key changes. The entire spine is new with Abbi Church, Tiana Penitani, Jesse Southwell and Kelley Davis replacing Emma Tonegato (who is now on the bench), Corban Baxter, Rachel Pearson and Olivia Higgins. Jayme Fressard, Jocelyn Kelleher and Kennedy Cherrington are major upgrades.
Queensland have five changes to their starting team and they are not positive with Shannon Mato and Evania Pelite both missing due to pregnancies, two huge blows that Rory Owen and Keilee Joseph cannot replace.
The Sky Blues won comfortably at Suncorp last year and would have made it two series on the trot if it weren’t for some inept coaching. New South Wales are a max bet here.
Same Game Multi
Jaime Chapman has eight tries in 10 rep games and is the most effective tryscorer for the Sky Blues.
Jess Sergis has 12 tries in her last 11 NRLW games and with John Strange coaching, she will be used much more effectively.
Value Bet
Tiana Penitani is an absolute star and will be getting a lot more of the ball with the No.6 on her back. She has all the skills and with no stars at fullback or halfback, she looks a super bet.
