Best Bet
It is astonishing that the Sydney Roosters have won a remarkable 18 games straight and sit on the precipice of history by travelling through an entire season of the NRLW unbeaten yet go into the Grand Final underdogs.
There have been two standout teams all season and they meet here and there is no doubt that it is the Roosters who have suffered the biggest out with last year’s Karyn Murphy Medal Winner Tarryn Aiken out for the season after suffering an ACL in the final round clash with Cronulla. The Broncos also scored more points and conceded fewer points than the Roosters this season.
Two things stand out though that push the Roosters.
These teams meet in Round 3 in Brisbane with the Roosters winning 30-26. The Roosters led 24-10 at halftime and did so without Tarryn Aiken. The Chooks also spent 10 minutes a player down with Jess Sergis binned.
The Roosters have also done nothing but perform in big games while the Broncos have underachieved. Brisbane lost semis as favourites the last two years while they really failed to impress against the Knights.
It is also notable that the Roosters have won five straight against the Broncos.
John Strange is a better coach. The Roosters have more big-game experience, at least recently. They can play different styles to win too while the Broncos really need an open match.
The plus is a great bet.
Same Game Multi
Tamika Upton is the greatest tryscorer in NRLW history with an incredible 45 tries in 50 games including 19 in 12 matches this season.
Jayme Fressard is the most reliable Roosters tryscorer with 22 in 29 games including six in her last six starting on the wing.
Olivia Kernick is an underrated tryscorer with 13 tries in 23 games across the last two seasons. She has five tries in six games against the Broncos.
Value Bet
Olivia Kernick was absolutely robbed of the Karyn Murphy Medal last year with political moves clearly afoot with Kernick a stunning non-selection for Australia the following day. Kernick scored a double, topped the Roosters tackle count and ran for 180 metres, breaking five tackles. She is the best Rooster and she has lifted for big games continually. If the Roosters win she is the one.
