The Warriors make their long-awaited return to New Zealand after three years away in what will be an emotional match against the Wests Tigers.
Best Bet
This is a game New Zealand really should win. The Warriors return to Mt Smart for the first time since 2019 in what is sure to be an emotion-charged game. The match is a sell-out and this is a great matchup.
The concern with this is the state of the Warriors right now. Only three Warriors named this week played in the last Mt Smart. The Warriors roster is a complete mess. Stacey Jones does not seem to be offering a lot. New Zealand have covered just 4 of 19 off conceding 20-plus and just 2 of 8 as a favourite. They have covered just 1 of 5 as a favourite of more than a try and covered just 1 of 8 at Mt Smart before shifting to Australia.
The Tigers are hardly blessed with any more stability at present but this is a nice spot for them. They have covered 12 of 20 off a loss of 20-plus, four of six at Commbank and 17 of 27 off conceding 30.
It will not be the popular play but the Tigers are the bet.
Same Game Multi
Ken Maumalo is in great tryscoring form with 10 tries in 12 appearances this year and is a former Warrior who will be desperate to cross this week.
David Nofoaluma scored four tries for Samoa against Cook Islands while he has eight tries in 11 games against the Warriors.
Value Bet
Luke Garner is one of the elite tryscoring forwards. He has 22 tries in 68 games and has crossed in four of his last six. Garner scored a double the last time he started in the backrow against the Warriors.
