Melbourne will not get a better opportunity to return to the Grand Final than playing at home against a limited Cronulla team as a near double-digit favourite.

The Storm welcome back the cavalry with Jahrome Hughes, Ryan Papenhuyzen and Shawn Blore back in a major boost to their premiership credentials.

The Sharks will be without key forward Tom Hazelton.

Teams on the week off have dominated preliminary final weekend of late with a perfect 10-0 record the last five years. Seven of those wins have come by 20-plus.

The Storm have very much had the best of the Sharks of late too, particularly at AAMI Park. Melbourne have won seven of those eight matches with all those wins coming by at least 16 points.

Melbourne have been very good at home of late with six covers in their last eight at AAMI. They bounce back off a poor defensive sowing too, covering six of eight off conceding 18-plus.

The big worry for Cronulla is their record against elite teams. They are 9-17 ATS v Top 4 sides.

The Storm can be bet and astute bettors will take some alternate minuses.

Xavier Coates is having the best tryscoring season of his career with 19 tries in 20 games.

Will Warbrick has an exceptional strike rate and has three tries in three appearances against the Sharks.

Eliesa Katoa is in super tryscoring form with a four-pointer in his last three matches.

Harry Grant
To Score A Try

Harry Grant is Melbourne’s best player and he has a knack for scoring against Cronulla and a knack for scoring in big games. The mercurial Storm No.9 has seven tries in nine games against the Sharks while he has four tries in his last four finals matches.
