It is hard to overlook how dominant Melbourne have been over Brisbane. It is as one-sided as a matchup has been in the NRL. The Storm have won 16 of the last 17 meetings. They have covered 13 of the last 16, scoring 30-plus in 13 of the last 16. They have won 14 of those matches by at least eight points. They have won eight straight at AAMI Park.
This is such a nice spot for Brisbane though and with Melbourne’s form patchy and Jahrome Hughes still sidelined, the plus seems way too big.
The Storm have won just two of their last six without Jahrome Hughes. They cover at just 42% at night including three of their last 12. They are 11-16 ATS off scoring 16 or fewer.
Brisbane are 8-4 ATS as an interstate underdogs of a try while they are 18-13 ATS interstate. Most importantly though, underdogs off scoring 60-plus are 6-1 ATS since 2008.
The Broncos are an excellent bet.
Same Game Multi
Xavier Coates has 14 tries in 15 games this season including hat-tricks in two of his last six.
Eliesa Katoa has 22 tries in his last 44 games across the last two seasons.
Brisbane are extremely left-side dominant and Selwyn Cobbo has 43 tries in 56 games on the wing.
Value Bet
Ezra Mam is an elite tryscorer so this price is utterly ridiculous. Mam has scored 38 tries in 66 games and it has not slowed against the Storm with three in five against Melbourne. Mam is a huge price in all tryscorer markets.
