South Sydney have been completely gutted by injury and look like lambs to the slaughter even against a middling team like St George Illawarra.
Best Bet
Pray for South Sydney.
The last-placed Rabbitohs who sacked their head coach last week and are playing like a team that is both unfit and uncaring have added star Cameron Murray, fullback Jye Gray, halfback Dean Hawkins and centre Isaah Tass. Latrell Mitchell returns this week but this team has so many reserve graders it is hard to see them pushing even the lowly Dragons.
It is more than a little notable too that the Rabbitohs have failed to cover any of their last 15 games.
St George Illawarra are far from world-beaters but this is a game Shane Flanagan will have the Dragons ready for.
They get Moses Suli back and that provides better balance to the Dragons backline.
Playing at Kogarah helps too. They have covered 11 of 15 at the venue including their last four when favoured.
The Dragons should prove far too strong here.
Same Game Multi
Zac Lomax has crossed six times in eight games this year including crossing in three of the Dragons’ four wins.
Tyrell Sloan has 17 tries in his last 32 games and his speed is set to cause the Rabbitohs all kinds of issues.
Moses Suli is not a renowned tryscorer but gets a massive plus-matchup against Michael Chee Kam.
Value Bet
Kyle Flanagan has been a sneaky good tryscorer for the Dragons this year, crossing three times in nine games. He is not afraid to run close to the line but makes his bones backing up and chasing kicks. Souths are a mess through the middle so look for him to get over.
