St George Illawarra were humiliated last week by the Dolphins and returning home there is no better spot to bet a team to bounce back.
Best Bet
The betting in this game is absolutely stunning. Recency bias – it is a wonderful thing!
The Dragons were so hot after their Round 1 win that they were sent out interstate favourites against the Dolphins. They were humiliated 38-0. The Cowboys were another impressive Round 1 team but failed to flatter in their golden point win over Newcastle last week.
By all intents, this game should be pick ’em – perhaps the Cowboys marginally favoured. Yet the Dragons get 7.5 points – and the game is at Kogarah!
Early season home underdogs of more than a try cover at 65%. Home teams off a loss of 38 or more cover at 62%. Interstate favourites of four or more in the first four rounds cover at just 31%.
With the Cowboys poor travellers and Shane Flanagan renowned as a bounceback coach, this has all the hallmarks of a huge Dragons showing.
Same Game Multi
Kyle Feldt has 15 tries in his last 15 games and this is a good matchup against slow defender Mikaele Ravalawa.
Mikaele Ravalawa is the top Dragons tryscorer. If he fails to score in this game it will be his first three-game try drought since Round 11 2022.
Value Bet
Kyle Flanagan is not blessed with a ton of speed but he is a crafty player who has 12 tries in 73 starts in the halves. He was a good tryscorer in NSW Cup last year. Considering how poor the Cowboys middles were last week, he is nice value to score.
