NRL Tips – South Sydney v Parramatta – Round 12 2024

Rabbitohs vs Eels - NRL Tips

The post-Brad Arthur period begins for Parramatta on Saturday night when the Eels are led by Trent Barrett against the last-placed South Sydney Rabbitohs.

Best Bet

South Sydney
Win

Confidence has rarely been high on a South Sydney win all season and that is not surprising considering they have managed just a single victory but against a Parramatta team on its knees, they look a very strong play in Round 12.

The Eels look absolutely cast. Clint Gutherson and Mitch Moses remain out. Promising young talent Blaize Talagi is looking to leave the club. Players are disappointed Brad Arthur is no longer part of the club. And Trent Barrett is now in charge, a debacle for the club. Barrett has won just 12 of his last 58 games as a head coach.

South Sydney might be starting to click to.

The Bunnies ended a long non-cover streak against the Cowboys last week and there were some positive team changes made by interim coach Ben Hornby this week too with Jack Wighton shifting into the halves.

It cannot be underestimated the positive impact the announcement of Wayne Bennett’s return to the club in 2025 will have had either, particularly on Latrell Mitchell and Cody Walker.

Souths have won 8 of 10 against Parramatta and look a good bet to improve that record.

Alex Johnston Try/Latrell Mitchell Try/Blaize Talagi Try
Same Game Multi

Alex Johnston has 17 tries in 13 games against the Eels.

Latrell Mitchell has scored three tries in two games since returning from suspension.

Blaize Talagi has scored in each of his three starts in the Eels back five.

Value Bet

Alex Johnston
To Score 3+ Tries

Everything is lining up for a big Alex Johnston game this week. The Eels are horrific defensively down their right edge and Souths are a big left-side attacking outfit. Johnston is back to full health and scored last week. Johnston has at least two tries in his last four and six of his last eight against Parramatta. Love him to go nuts on Saturday.
