South Sydney are in last place and on the verge of sacking their coach but as a big home underdog early in the season they are a bet that needs to be made.
Best Bet
This is not a bet anyone feels all that confident about but given the record of big home underdogs early in the season, the Bunnies getting the big plus needs to be played.
Home underdogs of four or more in the opening eight weeks of the season cover at 65%. Those off a loss of 28 or more cover at 69%.
Souths have lost Latrell Mitchell and Damien Cook has been ridiculously dropped but with some youngsters filling in at the key positions, a little more effort is expected.
Cronulla are off a bye and don’t have a side that should be putting teams to the sword so the plus looks a good bet, at least in theory. Let’s see how much they really hate Demetriou.
Same Game Multi
Jye Gray is a superstar in the making who has three tries in four reserve grade games this season.
Sione Katoa has five tries in four games against the Rabbitohs, never failing to score.
Value Bet
Siliva Havili is back in first grade, replacing the dumped Damien Cook. He is set to start from the bench but should get at least 40 minutes. He scored off the bench in Round 2 and will be taking any opportunity he can when Souths are on the attack and his running game is the top element of his game.
