NRL Tips – South Sydney v Canterbury – Round 4 2024

South Sydney Rabbitohs vs Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs | NRL Tips

The traditional Good Friday clash between South Sydney and Canterbury has long been the domain of the Rabbitohs but with the Bunnies on their knees, the Bulldogs are poised to strike.

Best Bet

Canterbury +6.5
Line

Get around the Bulldogs in this one with Canterbury shaping as a great bet getting a big start against a beleaguered Bunnies team.

That desperation may spur Souths on but it helped precious little against the Roosters last week. The pressure is mounting on coach Jason Demetriou and with at least a portion of the playing group not interested in seeing him succeed, this does not look like a great opportunity for them.

The facts are Souths have won just four of their last 16 games and have conceded 19 tries in three games this year.

Bouncing back though has not been in Souths’ handbook of late. They have covered just one of eight off conceding 28 or more points.

Souths are also a very bad bet when heavily favoured. Souths have covered just one of six when favoured by more than a converted try.

Canterbury remain a long way off the pace but their effort has been undeniable in three games this season and that is more than can be said for Souths. With teams off a shutout win covering 19 of 28 the last four years, the Bulldogs are a super bet.

Latrell Mitchell Try/Jacob Kiraz Try
Same Game Multi

Latrell Mitchell has dominated Canterbury over the years with 12 tries in 12 games against the Bulldogs.

Jacob Kiraz scored a sensational try last week and with Souths conceding 3.33 tries a game down their left edge, Kiraz is great value to take advantage of it.

Value Bet

Jacob Preston
To Score A Try

Jacob Preston is another who can take advantage of the porous Souths left edge. He scored last week and now has seven tries in his short NRL career on a team that has not scored a lot of them. His hard running will reap rewards.
