Gold Coast +11.5
Line

Cronulla go into their season opener against the Gold Coast as the biggest favourite of the round but despite a dominant record against the Titans, are no morals.

The Sharks have won 11 of the last 12 against the Titans with seven of those coming by double digits. They have won the last three at Shark Park all by 14-plus.

Big underdogs are the way to get Round 1 games through with those getting more than a converted try covering at 69% the last four seasons.

The Sharks have not started particularly fast under Craig Fitzgibbon, going 1-3 straight up an against the spread.

Gold Coast have covered three of their last four interstate and nine of 15 interstate getting eight or more.

The Titans look a handy bet.

Same Game Multi

Under 47.5/Phillip Sami Try/Braydon Trindall Try
Same Game Multi

The under hits at 78% in the opening four rounds the last five seasons when a team plays interstate.

Phillip Sami scored 15 tries last season, his best return in the NRL.

Braydon Trindall is a sneaky-good tryscorer who has 19 tries in 46 games the last two seasons.

Value Bet

Beau Fermor
To Score A Try

Beau Fermor is an elite tryscoring forward who has scored double digit tries in two of his last three seasons in the NRL. He scored 10 tries in 24 games last season for a Titans team that could not get out of their own way. They will be much-better organised this year under Josh Hannay and Fermor will be one of the biggest beneficiaries.
