Both the Sharks and the Bulldogs are in desperate need of a win and should set up Magic Round with one of the better matches on the schedule.

The Sharks have won 12 of the last 15 against the Bulldogs but Canterbury have turned it around of late with two wins in the last three meetings.

While Canterbury’s form has been abhorrent of late, they did roll Penrith just five games back. It is hard to make a case why the Sharks should be favoured by at least a try.

Cronulla have conceded 20-plus in seven of their last nine so the Bulldogs will get their opportunity to improve their scoring.

The Bulldogs have covered 13 of 22 interstate while they are 20-15 against the spread against teams outside the Top 8.

Confidence is low but the plus is the play.
