There is no bigger rivalry in Rugby League and there will be absolutely no love lost when the Roosters and Rabbitohs meet for the second straight week at Allianz Stadium with the added spice of the loser’s season ending.
Best Bet
This is going to be something else. The hate is real and the stakes are immense.
Souths have had the better recent record against the Roosters but Trent Robinson’s team were clearly the better side. Both teams get key players back this week but it is hard to argue that they are not a better team playing better Rugby League.
While the Roosters look a play in this one, the best bet is the over with both teams in very strong over spots.
The over hits at 61% when these teams meet including in five of their last seven. They have played in six straight that have topped 40.
The over is 30-16 when the Roosters are off a double digit win and hits at 60% when they play in the afternoon.
The over is 22-12 when Souths are off a loss and 23-11 when they are off conceding 22-plus. The over is 11-5 when the Bunnies are playing a day game.
This match should have points.
Same Game Multi
Boom youngster Joseph Suaalii has 15 tries in 18 games this year and gets a plus-aerial matchup against Alex Johnston.
James Tedesco has 13 tries in 22 appearances against South Sydney including five of his last seven.
Alex Johnston topped the tryscoring list this year with 28 tries in 23 games with at least one try in his last eight matches.
Value Bet
After a slow start to the season, Angus Crichton has been one of the form backrowers in the premiership across the last six weeks. He has crossed for five tries in his last seven appearances and was first over last week against Souths. He gets a great matchup running at Lachlan Ilias and Campbell Graham, two major defensive liabilities.
