Canberra started the season like a rocket with wins over New Zealand and Brisbane but back-to-back losses to Manly and North Queensland have them at a crossroads just a month in.
Cronulla have been uncharacteristically inconsistent and will be reeling a touch after being outmuscled and outworked by Canterbury last week.
The Sharks have won the last three between the two teams with the three wins all coming by 14 or more including a 40-0 win at Canberra Stadium last year.
This is a nice spot for the Raiders though as an early season home underdog. Home underdogs from Rounds 5-8 cover at 60% while that rises to 63% to dogs getting at least a try.
Canberra have covered six of eight getting a start of at least a try while they are 14-8 ATS off conceding at least 30 points.
With the Sharks a poor 4-7 against the number as an interstate favourite, Canberra can be bet with confidence getting the start.
Same Game Multi
Xavier Savage is the Raiders’ most lethal tryscoring threat . He has 18 tries in his last 27 games.
Sebastian Kris has three tries this season and the Sharks got carved up down their right side by Canterbury.
Value Bet
Matty Nicholson has made a nice impact during his debut season. He scored twice on debut and went very close last week. He scored at a good rate for Warrington. Looks like an over-the-odds bet for the foreseeable future.
