Canberra have endured a disappointing start to the season, following a come-from-behind win over Manly in Round 1 with four straight defeats with their minor premiership defence in tatters.
They get an excellent opportunity to put their season back on track when they head to Perth to play a South Sydney side the market has well-and-truly overrated.
The Raiders have won and covered their last four against the Rabbitohs with three of those wins coming by at least seven points. They have won 10 of the last 13.
Expectation has very much been the enemy of the Raiders so they will enjoy being in the underdog role. Canberra are 24-16 ATS as an outsider while they are 16-11 ATS as an underdog of at least a try.
Canberra are 15-8 ATS off conceding at least 30 so they rebound off a poor defensive showing.
Souths go the other way. Poor defence usually leads to a decline in form. They are 18-27 ATS off conceding 24-plus while they are 14-19 ATS as a favourite.
Confidence is high that Canberra can get the job done against Souths.
Same Game Multi
The under is 21-9 when Souths are off a win and 20-15 when Canberra are off a defeat.
Hudson Young is a tremendous scorer for an edge with 45 tries in 93 games across the last five seasons.
Tallis Duncan has 12 tries in 23 starts playing either second row or centre so his price is utterly absurd.
Value Bet
Noah Martin has been stunning this season after winning the edge spot over Zac Hosking. Martin has played every minute of the Raiders season, scoring two tries in their opener while racking up 12 tackle breaks. He is hard to pulls down and looks good value to score against the mobility-challenged David Fifita.
