A matchup many over the offseason forecast as this year’s Grand Final, Penrith have certainly strengthened their claims to a sixth Grand Final berth in seven years with an unbeaten start to the year, setting the standard for 2026. It has been a different story for the Storm though, who have blown double digit leads the last two weeks to go down to the Broncos and Cowboys.

The Storm have surprisingly won four of the last five meetings with Penrith but the Panthers have covered seven of the last 11.

It is impossible to go past the Panthers though, both to the eye and with the numbers.

Teams off scoring 40 or more cover at 61% while Top 4 teams in Rounds 3-6 cover at 70% against teams outside the Top 6.

Penrith have covered nine of 12 in NSW and have covered seven of eight when favoured by more than eight points.

The Storm cover at just 45% at night while they have covered just four of 13 interstate.

It is impossible not to be with Penrith in this one.

Dylan Edwards struggled by his high standards in 2025 but that has not proven to be a sign of decline with the Penrith fullback absolutely scintillating through the first four rounds. In four games he has three tries to go with an assist, running for over 150 metres in each game and being involved in six line breaks. Having crossed in two of his last five against the Storm, he is a good bet to get over on Friday night.
