There is no doubt that all is not right at the foot of the mountains. Penrith sit last on the ladder. Their typically reliable defence has been abhorrent. The stars have been below their best and the pipeline of never-ending talent seems to have dried up, at least relative to what we have seen in years gone by.
Having said that, Penrith still have Cleary and Edwards and Ivan Cleary as coach an plenty of talent and in such dire circumstances, surely they find something this game.
Penrith have dominated Brisbane in recent years with eight wins in the last nine clashes. They’ve won the last five at Suncorp.
This is also a super spot for the Panthers, who are the best rebound team in the NRL.
Penrith are 8-1 against the spread off a double digit loss and 11-4 against the number off any loss. When off scoring 12 or fewer, the Panthers have covered seven straight.
Brisbane are severely overrated and that is seen in their betting record at Suncorp, where they have covered just two of their last 15.
Day games have also been unkind, the Broncos covering just three of their last 11.
Chips in the Panthers plus.

Jesse Arthars is the leading tryscorer in the NRL with 10 tries in eight games.
Blaize Talagi is a pure tryscorer who has scored twice in his three starts at five-eighth with the Panthers.
Value Bet
Luke Sommerton was a frequent tryscorer in the lower grades with 16 tries in 48 games. He has not been shy about going himself in the top grade either with two tries in seven games. He had one awarded last week too that was overturned. Excellent price.
