South Sydney have been an utter debacle this year and they now head to Melbourne to meet a Top 4 Storm in need of a blowout win in a city the Bunnies have never won in.
Best Bet
Just get in the queue. This is a put-in, take-out job. Melbourne are going to make such a mess of South Sydney that Jason Demetriou may not even have his return flight to Sydney paid for.
Souths are just ugly right now. The injuries are piling up with Tevita Tatola and Tyrone Munro the latest to be sidelined though Jai Arrow returns this week. They are also horrendously overrated by the market, failing to cover an extraordinary 13 straight. They are conceding 32ppg.
Souths have not won in Melbourne in 18 starts. They have covered just 1 of their last 10 off conceding 28-plus and just 1 of their last 6 interstate, Bottom four teams off a loss cover at just 43%.
The Storm just keep on doing Storm things. While they do not have a blowout win on their resume this year, they have got through a difficult start to the season in good stead.
This is also a nice spot for them. They are 15-10 ATS at AAMI when favoured by more than a try and have covered 24 of 38 when playing teams outside the Top 8.
It is hard to see anything outside a huge blowout win for the Storm with 30-plus a big runner.
Same Game Multi
Souths are abhorrent down their left so banking on Will Warbrick to be able to best Jacob Gagai.
Ryan Papenhuyzen has 50 tries in 60 starts in the NRL.
Eliesa Katoa is another who can expose the Rabbitohs’ awful left. He has three tries in his last three games.
Value Bet
Shawn Blore has come on nicely as a starting edge for the Storm and he did cross two weeks back for the last try. Blore is playing big minutes and winning the confidence of the coaching staff. His hard running will cause the Bunnies all kinds of issues.
