Newcastle have become all but impossible to watch as they limp to a bottom four finish that could not be more deserved. The Knights are averaging an historically poor 13ppg while they have failed to breach 10 points in half of their games.
Kalyn Ponga returns but he has done little for the Knights all year and their numbers dictate that they are impossible to bet on.
Worse news for Newcastle is they are not a bounce back team either. They are 3-9 ATS when at home off a loss of 13 or more while they have failed to cover six straight at home off scoring six or fewer.
Against Top 8 teams they have covered just five of 15.
Manly are an unreliable proposition away from Brookvale so jumping into laying a big number is not super enticing. They are a poor 2-9 ATS when favoured by 6.5 or more on the road.
Manly have owned Newcastle though, covering eight of the last 10 including four of the last five in Newcastle.
The talent differential and the attacking chops of Manly make them a good bet.
Same Game Multi
Tommy Talau has 19 tries in 27 games since joining Manly.
Tolutau Koula is enjoying his best tryscoring season with eight tries in 11 games.
Value Bet
Edge backrower Ben Trbojevic has done a good job at exposing poor defensive centres and Dane Gagai is just that, ranking 13th in missed tackles. Trbojevic has three tries this season including two in the last five. He will have a field day spotting up Gagai.
