Penrith are the hottest team in the NRL with eight straight wins, keeping opponents to 10 or fewer in five of those. Against the lowest scoring team in the NRL, that should prove a great matchup. Not all is as it seems though.

The Panthers were poor in the second half against the Titans, conceding 26 points in a game they should have lost. They were not helped by the absence of Isaah Yeo, who has not been named this week.

Then there is the record of big home underdogs, who have an outstanding record of late. Double digit home underdogs have covered at 71% the last four seasons while those after Round 20 are 15-3 against the spread.

With the Knights 7-3 against the spread as a home underdogs getting at least eight points and Penrith 6-13 against the number laying double digits, Newcastle are a quality bet at home getting the huge start.
