The Dolphins stunned the Rugby League world when they opened up last season with a win against the Roosters and they can pull off another Round 1 home upset in 2024.
Best Bet
It is stunning that the Dolphins are such big outsiders on home turf this week against a team that is average at best.
Home underdogs of at least four points cover at 66% in the opening four rounds. They are blind bets.
Factor in that the Cowboys are typically slow starters – they are 4-10 ATS in Round 1 over the last 14 years and have not covered any of their last four – then this line looks completely out of whack.
The Dolphins will miss Tom Gilbert but have a very good team and look a great bet to cover and a good win to take the two points.
Same Game Multi
Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow was electric last year with 15 tries in 20 games, scoring eight tries in the first six rounds when fully healthy.
Kyle Feldt is the major beneficiary of Scott Drinkwater’s passing game. He scored three in a recent trial and scored in both games against the Dolphins last year.
Value Bet
The Dolphins backrower is a former outside back so has enough speed and he has become adept at running a great line. He scored seven times in 23 games last season and the Cowboys edge defence is questionable at best. He is huge value.
