Best Bet
The Dolphins and Dragons don’t have a history of close games but this one projects as a hard-fought affair. None of the fur games between these teams have been closer than 14 points with the home team covering all four clashes – but this one looks like it will be different.
The Dragons are a massive runner this week despite this being the first game between the two teams at Suncorp.
Shane Flanagan’s team are certainly the natural starting point with interstate underdogs covering at a clip of 64% during the Origin period.
The Dragons have covered six of their last eight interstate matches. They have covered their last four as an underdog of at least a try. They are 24-15 ATS against bottom nine teams. This sets up incredibly nicely for an ambush win.
The Dolphins are poor favourites with a 5-10 record when the elect in betting. They are 2-5 ATS as a favourite at Suncorp.
The Phins have also failed to cover all three after scoring 40 or more points.
The plus is a very good bet. This is a game you want to be with the Dragons.
Same Game Multi
Nathan Lawson showed tremendous speed on debut and he has a nice tryscoring record in NSW Cup with five tries in eight games.
Clint Gutherson has scored four tries in his last three games.
Value Bet
Kyle Flanagan is not an overly-dynamic player but he does the little things well and it makes him an over-the-odds proposition most weeks. He has four tries in 11 games this season – and looks value to get over this weekend.
