The winless Cowboys are in desperate need of a victory but will not get it easy against a Raiders team still smarting from last week’s stitch-up job.

It is most surprising that Canberra are not more heavily favoured on the road against a North Queensland team that seems a long way off a victory.
The Cowboys have been abhorrent in three showings this year, being decimated by Manly and Cronulla with only a late intercept allowing them a backdoor cover against the Broncos.
The Raiders, by contrast, looked very good in winning their two opening matches before being given no chance by the officiating last week.
North Queensland have won six straight against Canberra but they were very different teams that regularly rolled the Raiders. More concerning is how overrated the Cowboys tend to be at home with just three covers in their last 16 at Queensland Country Bank Stadium.
The Raiders are 8-3 ATS interstate and have covered seven of eight off a loss of 28 or more.
Canberra are a confident bet in this one.

Xavier Savage is the fastest player on the paddock and now has 17 tries in his last 26 matches.
Sebastian Kris is flying this year with three tries and another one that was wrongly taken off him.
Value Bet
Joe Tapine returns from suspension and looks a great value bet to score against a defensively frail Cowboys team. North Queensland have conceded eight tries to forwards already this season including to props Toa Sipley and Payne Haas. Tapine is tough to bring down and looks a nice bet.
