NRL Tips – Cowboys v Bulldogs – Round 1 2022

NRL Betting Tips

The wooden spoon favourites host last season’s wooden spooners in a game where taking odds-against is necessary.

Best Bet

Tri Bet: Either Team 6 or Less ($2.81)

Neither the Cowboys or the Bulldogs should have high hopes this year and if they do they are delusional. Betting on this game suggests nobody has any idea about how this will play out. The Bulldogs were bet into favouritism – on the road! – before some very ordinary trial performances showed that despite the roster changes, stylistically, the Bulldogs were the same.

There is no way the Bulldogs should be favoured on the road after their 3-21 atrocity last year. The Cowboys have a historically bad roster.

The best play in this game though is to bet a close one in the Tri Bet market. Six of the last nine have gone under the total and neither team has an attack of any potency so a one-score game looks value.

Same Game Multi

Hamiso Tabuai-Fidow Try/Matt Dufty Try ($4.33)

Both fullbacks have strong try scoring strike rates and in new roles will want to make their mark.

Tabuai-Fidow has scored 14 tries in 27 games including five in 11 at fullback.

Dufty has 44 tries in 82 games and has scored in his first game in each of the last two years.

Value Bet

Reece Robson First Try Scorer ($26.00)

Reece Robson is one of the better try scorers in the NRL among the hooker brethren with 11 tries in his 38 games for the Cowboys. He is a dynamic ball runner and the Bulldogs middle hardly looks stout.
