The Sydney Roosters will head to Brisbane eyeing a comfortable win but they may not get it all their own way against the Broncos.
Best Bet
Brisbane +14.5 ($1.90)
There is little question that the Roosters are a significantly better team than the Broncos. They have more talent, more creativity and notably better coaching. The line in this one is just too big.
Brisbane have lost Albert Kelly, Thomas Flegler and Patrick Carrigan but only Carrigan is a loss of note. The Broncos may actually be better with Billy Walters in the halves as their attack thus far has been insipid.
Home underdogs of a try or more in the opening eight rounds cover at a clip of 64%. The Broncos have covered 11 of 16 but notably have covered 10 of their last 13 when an underdog of eight or more the ground.
The Roosters annihilated the Broncos twice two years ago but last year that obviously stung because Brisbane shocked the Roosters in one and then went down by a point in the other. This should be closer than the big line suggests.
Same Game Multi
Herbie Farnworth Try/Joey Manu Try ($6.75)
Herbie Farnworth has four tries in four games this year and now has six tries in his last eight games.
Joey Manu has his confidence back after his facial injury, coming off two outstanding games that has netted him three tries.
Value Bet
Sitili Tupouniua Try ($3.30)
This is a great matchup for Sitili Tupouniua, coming up against Kotoni Staggs and that incredibly weak right defensive edge of the Broncos. Tupouniua has 17 tries in 38 starts and has three tries in his last three games against Brisbane.
