Round 2 kicks off with the Broncos hosting the Bunnies at Suncorp and it is a healthy Broncos that look very hard to beat.
Best Bet
Both teams return from Las Vegas but Brisbane return in a far healthier state than South Sydney.
The only concern for the Broncos was Brendan Piakura and he has been cleared to play. Hopefully coach Kevin Walters doesn’t fail his team again by not having an edge on the bench. At this stage there is not one but surely he makes the necessary late changes.
Souths have lost Jai Arrow to a long-term injury and now have Arrow, Jack Wighton, Campbell Graham and Tyrone Munro sidelined.
The injuries left Souths exposed out wide defensively against Manly while they have issues through the middle. Their refusal to offload is making them a fairly easy team to defend against.
The Broncos have won three of the last four against the Bunnies and are 11-3 ATS at Suncorp off a double digit loss. They have covered four of their last five at the ground.
Brisbane have too many points in them for a Bunnies team on the ropes.
Same Game Multi
Ezra Mam is a quality tryscorer with 24 tries in 39 games and will be prepared for a big game this week.
Selwyn Cobbo has 37 tries in 51 games and has a huge pace edge on counterpart Isaiah Tass.
Value Bet
Kotoni Staggs matches up with Richie Kennar this week and there will be stars in his eyes considering what a poor defender Kennar is. Staggs is not an elite tryscorer with just 44 tries in 102 games but he is not afraid of a double with seven across the last four seasons including one against the Bunnies in their last meeting.
