Clearly the dominant team in the AFC South, Houston get a chance to mark themselves as genuine Super Bowl contenders when they travel to Los Angeles in Week 1.
Best Bet
The Texans are a fashionable pick in this game but the Rams are entitled to be favourites at home.
Give Rams coach Sean McVay a good healthy quarterback and he will nearly always produce. That was the case in 2024 when his team made it to the divisional round and they should be better this year.
It was a relatively young Rams outfit in 2024 and they still managed to go 10-7 and win a playoff game before the Eagles ran all over them in the Divisional. They have acquired some good pieces on defence to assist the run defence, and having acquired Davante Adams to pair with Puka Nacua, they have one of the most potent receiver pairings in the league.
Houston also won a playoff game but memories of CJ Stroud getting mauled by the Chiefs defensive line in the divisional remain. They have signed some veteran pieces to bolster the O-line but it will remain to see if the formula works.
The Rams have gone 6-2 against the number in Week 1 and look a good bet to start the season off strong.
Same Game Multi
The Texans have a formidable cornerback pairing of Derek Stingley and Kamari Lassiter, but McVay is an expert in getting his top receivers into position to make plays. Nacua and Adams are both capable of lining up anywhere on the field as well.
Value Bet
The Texans signed Chubb on a cheap deal in free agency. He has battled injuries so we will see how long he lasts, but he is a huge price here to score first given his production levels in the past.
