Best Bet
Quarterbacks, unsurprisingly, have a great record claiming this award, winning 34 of the 59 Super Bowl MVP awards. Quarterbacks have won the last three and 14 of the last 19. While Sam Darnold looks major unders given how the Seahawks like to rely on the run and his problems in big games, Drake Maye enters as a high draft pick who will finish second in MVP voting in his second year. He has added to his running game and has some memorable throws in him. Must be included.
Value Bet
The best value play if Seattle wins is wide receiver Jaxson Smith-Njigba. There has been no better wide receiver in the NFL and no receiver who accounted for a higher percentage of his team’s receiving output. Wide receivers have a good record winning the MVP award – eight receivers have won the award including five in the last 20 years. This stacks up well to running backs, who have not won the award since 1998.
Roughie Bet
Kayshon Boutte has had an outstanding season and is the deep threat Drake Maye trusts the most. Matthew Stafford had few issues throwing on Seattle last week and Boutte has plenty of speed and elite hands. Boutte will likely need more targets but has the talent.
