Week 14 of the NFL season kicks off with a mouth watering clash between the NFC leaders Detroit, and their conference rival Green Bay.
Best Bet
Detroit took their foot off the gas on thanksgiving against Chicago but that was uncharacteristic of a team that has been a line covering juggernaut this year.
Despite that backdoor they are still 9-3 against the number this season and that includes a Week 9 victory over the Packers at Lambeau Field.
That’s noteworthy because the Lions and Jared Goff are usually at their best at home. Goff is 15-6 against the number against the NFC North at Ford Field. Detroit have also bounced back well after failing to cover the number at home, going 10-2 in that metric with Goff at QB.
After a long period as a hapless whipping boy for the Packers, the Lions have now won five of the last six games against their old rival, with the smallest margin of victory being four points.
Green Bay come into this off a three game win streak but their record has been flattered by injury and soft opponents. Chips in the Lions in this one.
Same Game Multi
Tight end Sam LaPorta has at least six targets in his last three games. Expect his production to lift after a moderate first half of the season.
Also leaning the over here, the Lions have a lot of defensive injuries so Green Bay should be able to move the ball in this one, while the home team’s offence leads the league in most key metrics.
Goff only had four incompletions from 22 pass attempts when these teams met earlier in the season.
Value Bet
LaPorta had two receiving touchdowns last week and is emerging as a popular target in the red zone for Jared Goff.
