While Jets fans are pinning their hopes on Aaron Rodgers to lead them to the promised land, the reality is that he is a 40 year old coming off an achilles tear whose last really great season was in 2020.
The Niners have lost some personnel due to cap attrition but they should have enough talent up front to get pressure on Rodgers, especially with questions over the Jets offensive line.
The 49ers have been an offensive juggernaut ever since Christian McCaffrey joined the team and they still roll out probably the most talented offensive roster in the league.
Given their offensive struggles last year the Jets defence played remarkably well, but defence is highly variable year to year and whether they are the same top unit remains to be seen. They will need to be at their very best to contain Kyle Shanahan’s offence.
