With a more balanced offence, the Vikings look an excellent play getting points on the road against the Eagles.

Both teams come into this Monday night matchup off the back of impressive Week 1 displays, but as the outsiders, Minnesota have to be the play.
Philadelphia are a very effective team when they get the game on their terms. That is, they lead early, can run the ball behind their powerful offensive line. If the Eagles fall behind and have to pass the ball, iit exposes the limitations of their quarterback, Jalen Hurts, who completed only 18 of 32 pass attempts last week against an ordinary Lions defence.
Hurts is dangerous as a runner, which showed up last week when he went for 90 yards and a score on 17 carries. To win, Minnesota have to stop the run and while they did give up 6.2 yards per carry to the Packers last week, expect them to use more base personnel and dare Hurts to throw the ball.
The difference in this game will likely be Justin Jefferson. The LSU product went for 9 catches and 184 yards against one of the better secondaries in the NFL last week. New head coach Kevin O’Connell’s offence doesn’t look a one trick pony either, as the Vikings ran the ball effectively as well.
Getting points on the road – even less than a field goal – the Vikings look an excellent bet.

In Jefferson we trust! For NFL defences, it’s one thing to know that the ball is going in his direction, stopping him is quite another. The Vikings likely don’t win unless he has a significant influence on the game so taking him in combination with that outcome makes sense.
Value Bet
Johnny Mundt supplanted Irv Smith as TE1 in the Vikings offence in Week 1, playing 40 snaps to Smith’s 19 and having three catches on three receptions. The unheralded former Ram – he came across to the Vikings with O’Connell this offseason – looks capable of taking a bigger role in the Vikings offence than the market expects.
