It’s better to be lucky than good, and the Bengals were fortunate enough to learn after escaping with a Week 1 win over the Browns.
The Bengals were kept to 95 passing yards and 46 on the ground, but managed to force two turnovers which was the key to victory.
The Bengals offence won’t be that bad again. Joe Burrow has proved himself to be a top tier quarterback and he still has Ja’Marr Chase, the top wideout in the league.
The bigger question is the offensive line, but that is a weakness less likely to be exposed at home than it was on the road.
Jacksonville had the game against Carolina won by half time when they led 20-3. There were a number of positive signs, especially on the ground where Travis Etienne rushed for 143 yards on just 11 carries.
But it’s hard to know just what conclusions to draw given it was the hapless Panthers they got to play there.
The Bengals won in Week 1, but expect a much more comprehensive performance here.

Backing Ja’Marr Chase to bounce back in a big way here. He averaged more than 100 yards per game last season.
Conversely, Travis Etienne should have a much harder time running the ball against what looks a much improved Bengals defence under new co-ordinator Al Golden.

The Jags traded away Tank Bigsby meaning they must feel comfortable with what 4th round pick Tuten offers as RB2. He is a nice price to score given his likely more prominent role in the offence.
