Russell Wilson and Matt Ryan were meant to be the solution to years of woeful quarterback play for their respective sides, but so far in 2022 neither has hit the heights they were expected to.

In Denver, Russell Wilson has struggled to adapt to new co-ordinator Nathaniel Hackett and truth be told, entering his age 34 year he is no longer the player he once was.

Wilson does not like to get hit and is reluctant to use his legs. While he can still throw a beautiful deep ball, he has never been a strong passer in the short and intermediate sections of the field where fitting the ball into tight windows is the key to success.

Ryan, on the other hand, has been let down by the Colts much vaunted offensive line. While his lack of mobility doesn’t help, the play up front has contributed to him being sacked 15 times.

Fortunately for Ryan the Broncos top pass rusher Randy Gregory is missing, along with Denver’s star running back Javonte Williams. The Colts are injury hit too, missing their explosive rusher Jonathan Taylor as well as Shaq Leonard, the heartbeat of their defence who is yet to suit up this season.

It wouldn’t shock if one of the offences was able to get going, but it would be an enormous surprise if both did. A total of 42 – higher than three of four Broncos games, and all four Colts games this season – simply looks too high.

Same Game Multi

Under 42.0, Albert Okwuegbunam 30+ Receiving Yards

The Colts have conceded at least 38 yards to the opposing TE1 in every game this season, and Albert O should get the lion’s share of targets for the Broncos.

Value Bet

Deon Jackson
Anytime Touchdown Scorer

With Jonathan Taylor out, markets have priced Nyheim Hines as the back most likely to see increased action but Jackson is a better fit for the Colts running game, especially in short yardage and goal line situations. $7.00 to score a touchdown is great value.

Mike Boone
Anytime Touchdown Scorer

Again a running back injury has shaken up this market. Melvin Gordon has 4 fumbles on 37 carries this season, and while the Broncos have signed Latavius Murray from the Saints practice squad, he played in London on Sunday and has had no time to learn the offence. Boone should see plenty of action.
