This week’s Sunday Night Football protagonists had very different Week 1s.

The Vikings looked dead and buried before rookie QB JJ McCarthy inspired a comeback-for-the-ages against Chicago. The Falcons, by contrast, had victory n their grasp against Tampa Bay before falling to a Baker Mayfield comeback.

Neither strike as a reliable proposition but one bet does appeal and that is the under.

The under hits at 66% in Week 2 when a team is off a win of three or fewer.

There was enough from J McCarthy in his NFL debut to suggest he will be around for a long time yet. While he will need time, he showed little fear. Notably he ran the ball three times for 25 yards including a touchdown. He had eight rushing scores in his last two years at Micigan too. He is not fast but he can get over the line.
