The Eagles are a lot of things but they are not stupid.

In fact, no team in the league has been as good at self scouting and learning from their mistakes in the last few years as the Eagles.

It’s why they have consistently contended for Super Bowls with Nick Sirianni as head coach.

Their most recent mistake – that they will learn from – is getting away from their successful run first formula last week.

Saquon Barkley – their all world running back – had a measly six carries last week against the Broncos.

Unsurprisingly, this coincided with them blowing a 17-3 lead to the Broncos.

It won’t happen again this week.

While the Eagles have not been the juggernaut on the ground they have been in previous seasons, they have still been an effective run first team, both for gaining yardage and controlling the clock.

In Weeks 1-4, Saquon had 18, 22, 18 and 19 carries. The Eagles won all of those games, against the Cowboys, Chiefs, Rams and Bucs – a pretty tough schedule.

The Eagles should be too good for a Giants team that lost to the hapless Saints last week and is without their only real difference maker on offence, Malik Nabers.

The Giants rank 29th in the league for yards per carry allowed so expect Saquon to be breaking off nice consistent chunks on the ground. Both yards and attempts are good ways to play it, but prefer the attempts given it doesn’t necessarily require him to hit any big runs.
