NFL Tips – Commanders @ Buccaneers – Wild Card Weekend 2025

NFC South champions Tampa Bay go in as narrow favourites when they host Washington at Raymond James Stadium on Wild Card Weekend.

Best Bet

Buccaneers -2.5
Line

Washington were 150-1 to win the Super Bowl entering the playoffs so have enormously overachieved just to be here. It’s hard to see them going on the road and winning a playoff game, even against the Bucs.

Rookie QB Jayden Daniels has had a great season for the Commanders but the playoffs are a different story. Rookie QB’s are 19-37-1 against the number when playing against a QB with playoff experience since 2002.

Admittedly the Bucs are crawling out of the dumpster fire that is the NFC South, but what they have done on offence has been particularly impressive. They rank fourth in the league for yards, third for points, and are first on third down.

The Bucs running game has been a particular highlight, averaging 5.3 yards per carry, third in the league. They are well positioned to exploit Washington’s vulnerability in this area, as they have allowed the 3rd most running yards in the league.

Laying less than a field goal, the Bucs are a terrific bet in this one.

Same Game Multi

Bucs -2.5, Irving 70+ Rushing Yards, Mayfield 15+ Rushing Yards, Evans 70+ Receiving Yards

Despite missing time with injury this season veteran receiver Evans has posted his eighth straight 1000 yard season. He’s had at least 68 yards in his last seven.

Rookie back Irving has been a sensation and should get his opportunities against Washington’s poor run defence. Quarterback Mayfield is an underrated scrambler and will put his body on the line to get tough yards.

Value Bet

Baker Mayfield
To Score A Touchdown

Mayfield only has three touchdowns on the season but playoff football is a different sport. He won’t hesitate to take the opportunity to run one in if it presents.
