NFL Tips – Chiefs @ Chargers – Week 1 2025

betseeker nfl week 1 predictions

Kansas City and Los Angeles head to Brazil to start their season, in a game that will be played on Saturday morning, Australian time.

Best Bet

Chargers + 3.5
Line

The Super Bowl hangover is a real and the Chiefs have to be bet against in Week 1 of the season.

In the last 25 years, the Super Bowl loser has been a paltry 6-19 against the number in Week 1, a hugely concerning trend. The includes the Chiefs themselves in 2021. While they did manage to win that game, they couldn’t cover the 5.5 point line.

The AFC West should be a much stronger division this year and while the Chiefs have dominated in recent years, their record against the number has been less impressive, failing to cover in their last five against AFC West opponents.

Chargers Jim Harbaugh has a phenomenal record at getting his teams ready for Week 1 of the season. He has won all five Week 1 games as a head coach and covered in all five also. The Chargers have also been underrated in divisional play, going 5-0-1 against the number to close out 2024.

With two superstar quarterbacks, this game could easily go either way. But the Chargers are a great bet with the points.

Same Game Multi

Chargers +3.5, Under 45.5 Points, Kelce Under 45.5 Receiving Yards,

The under is another solid play here. These teams have a recent history of low scoring encounters with neither topping 19 points in their two meetings last year.

The newly engaged Travis Kelce had a slow start to last season with just 12 targets across his first three games. It would not surprise if Andy Reid kept his workload down with a view towards having him peak at the end of the season.

Value Bet

Najee Harris

Najee Harris has been battling an eye injury, but last I checked you don’t need an eye to run. The former Steeler is a great price to score on his Chargers debut.
