In Week 1 against the Steelers the Jets offence with Justin Fields at QB looked potent – putting up 394 total yards – but the defence gave up four passing touchdowns to Aaron Rodgers.
There were good signs though, especially on the ground, as the Jets kept the Steelers to just 53 rushing yards – of course, it’s a tougher ask against the Bills with James Cook and of course Josh Allen’s threat to run.
The ground game shapes as a concern for the Bills defence too. They were beaten up in the trenches by the Ravens, and while Breece Hall and Fields aren’t quite Derrick Henry and Jackson, they’re a potent one two punch, especially behind an impressive looking Jets offensive line.
If the Jets offence can get more assistance from their defence – and it is a unit that has given Josh Allen problems in recent years, especially at Metlife – they can keep this one close.
