The NFC West shapes as one of the most interesting divisions in football and it could be defined by this Week 1 clash between San Francisco and Seattle.
Best Bet
In a game where picking the winner looks very difficult, taking the under looks a strong bet.
There are plenty of unknowns around both sides offensively. Seattle will be starting Sam Darnold at QB for the first time and while he did have a good season (up until the playoffs) last year for Minnesota, the 49ers staff will know exactly what buttons to push when they play against their former backup.
The 49ers will certainly welcome back Brock Purdy and Christian McCaffrey, but there are plenty of unknowns at the receiver position with a glut of injuries to their wideouts.
Seattle’s defence improved significantly over the second half of last season, and Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald’ has made some significant investment ‘s unit should only be further improved in 2025.
There were only 37 points scored when these teams last met and it feels likely we could be headed for a similar number here.
Same Game Multi
With the injuries to San Francisco’s wideouts – and Seattle boasting a potent cornerback combination in Riq Woolen and Devon Witherspoon – expect Purdy to turn to trusted pass-catching options Christian McCaffrey at running back and George Kittle at tight end.
Value Bet
McCaffrey was a non-factor last year due to injury, but he did lead the NFL in touchdowns two seasons ago with 21. He can get into the end zone early in this one.
