Division Winner
The AFC West is the most interesting division in football this year due to having four veteran coaches at the helm who have all won major trophies.
No discussion about the AFC West can start anywhere but with the Kansas City Chiefs. The Chiefs have reached five of the last six Super Bowls and won nine straight division titles. They are deserved favourites again but a few numbers suggest they could be in for a slight downturn. They went a ridiculous 11-0 in one-score games and they overshot their true win number by an unprecedented 4.8. Rashee Rice is suspended for six games. They have a difficult schedule. The Chiefs typically defy numbers and could do so again but happy to take them on this year.
The Broncos have improved no end under Sean Payton and if Bo Nix can progress on year two then Denver can push KC. Denver went 1-6 in close games and fell 1.5 wins shy of their true win number. A good defence has received a significant influx of talent with Greenlaw, Hufanga and Barron. Denver are the value bet for the division.
The Chargers didn’t have the best offseason with Jim Harbaugh caught up in the Michigan cheating scandal, star defender Ford leaving and injuries to key personnel. That is enough to downgrade them in a difficult division.
Pete Carroll is a divisive figure but he was a great hire for a Raiders team that needed a culture change and a positive identity. The Raiders lost some key defensive talent but are going to be worth a watch in 2025.
Season Wins Over/Under
This is without question the best way to play the Broncos. Denver were arguably an 11.5-win team last season and have improved on both sides of the ball. The over is one of the best totals on the board.
Player Prop
There has been plenty of talk out of the Chief that they will try to be more explosive this year. Mahomes has kept things in check the last two years but has a long history of throwing over 4000 yards and will be looking down field more often this year.
