The Kings are raring to sweep this historic NBL finals series. Here are our best bets.
Best Bet
Sydney Kings -6.5 ($1.90)
It’s officially do-or-die time for the Tasmania JackJumpers after they fell to the Sydney Kings 86-90 in Game 2 to go down 0-2 in the NBL Grand Final. That result has Sydney just one win away from their first title since 2005 and they are a very good chance of achieving just that on Wednesday.
League MVP Jaylen Adams has been listed as a game time decision by the Kings but with or without their star point guard, the hosts will be far too good. Both Ian Clark and Shaun bruce provided very good minutes at the one in Game 2, combining for 13 assists as they took over the playmaking duties and Xavier Cooks, Jarell Martin and Dejan Vasiljevic all scored 20-pieces, outlining the versatility in Sydney’s offence.
Josh Adams put up a great fight for Tassie, scoring 36 points on 54% shooting, but as was the case in the series opener, he lacked support and I can’t see that story changing on Wednesday. There is expected to be more than 13,000 people at Qudos Bank Arena on Wednesday which is a huge boost for the home team and the 6.5 points that they are giving up simply isn’t enough. The Kings are 10-4 ATS in their last 14 games and 7-4 ATS in their last 11 as home favourites.
Player Prop
Josh Adams Over 16.5 Points ($1.90)
Josh Adams has been a real star for Tasmania late in the season and with his points line at just 16.5 points, the over is a bet. He’s averaging 24.5 ppg this series and 20.2 ppg in the postseason. Against the Kings this season, he’s averaging 18.4 ppg and he’ll be given the green light to shoot as much as he wants after his performances in the opening two games.
