The final round of the regular season, but there is still plenty to play for. The throwdown in Melbourne can catapult the Phoenix out of the play-in tournament. But for how long is the question, with Adelaide getting the right of reply against Perth, on Friday night.

Cairns Taipans Vs. New Zealand Breakers (Thu 5:30pm)
Best Bet
New Zealand should take of Cairns pretty comfortably tonight, if they don’t get ahead of themselves for the Ignite Cup. With their season over, they still have $400k to play for, after tonight.
PJC has started ramping up over the last few games and the fact that some other big names for the Breakers have missed games, has only helped him. We should see Lopez and Mennenga back, but Izaiah Brockington is set to miss. If he doesn’t play, that’s more offence that will go through PJC and the addition of Sam Mennenga helps his assist numbers with pick and roll offence.
With an average of 18 shots per game over his last four games, it looks like Jackson-Cartwright is looking to finish the season strong.
SEM Phoenix Vs. Melbourne United (Thu 7:30pm)
Next Best
Throwdown #32 and with a lot to play for, for both sides. Shae Ili will be missed for United, but the battle will remain.
Tyson Walker will need to step up again after last week’s monstrous 30-point outing against Illawarra. I expect SEM to make adjustments to prevent Walker taking 19 shots and getting to the line 10 times. If they stifle Walker from scoring, I expect him to influence the game with his passing.
With an average of 6.3APG in three games against Melbourne this season, we hope he continues that form and maybe even Chris Goulding can make a shot for him.
SEM Phoenix Vs. Melbourne United (Thu 7:30pm)
Value Bet
Clark has been instant offence for Phoenix, coming off the bench to inject some quick points whilst the starters rest.
He is averaging 6.7 attempts from deep since coming off the bench, across the last seven games. He has made 2.8 triples on average over that period, including multiple games of 5. The game time has slightly reduced which can be a concern, but if Melbourne’s shooters get hot, South East will need Clark to match it.
