Cairns have looked better since Waardenburg has returned but its still took a McVeigh masterclass to overcome New Zealand. The 36ers are a different beast and this could get ugly.

Cooks will get the job of trying to control three-time NBA Champ JaVale McGee in this one as the Kings host the Hawks.
Cooks has recorded 9+ rebounds in each of his last seven games against Illawarra at Qudos Bank Arena. Albeit a lot of different circumstances in those games but the pattern is there.
McGee is the heart of this Hawks team’s offence, and they are a much better side when he is rolling. From Sydney’s perspective, it will be stopping McGee and make Harvey and Peterson make outside shots, if they want to win.
Knowing all eyes will be on this Christmas Day showpiece might just be what Cooks needs to find slightly above average rebounds.
