Melbourne United Vs. Tasmania JackJumpers (Thurs 7:30pm)
Best Bet
For so many years, Goulding has been the man for Melbourne. This season, we have seen him start, come off the bench and also still show glimpses of superstardom.
Tasmania can not afford to let Goulding blow them away. They will know CG43’s ability to score at will and they cannot afford him to get going. I expect a hard tag type role on Goulding the entire game and there will be no help defence coming off of Chris.
With Milton Doyle the offensive injection off the bench, I can see Melbourne getting him going early and if Goulding doesn’t hit early, he could be used as a chess piece spreading the floor for others.
In the three games he has played Tassie this season he has averaged just 9.6PRA across three games.

Next Best
This game should be an absolute slog with both teams prioritising defence. The line is slightly lower than the season averages for both teams, but the finals atmosphere should bring an extra amount of energy in this do or die final.
Scott Roth’s team will be playing freely with the mindset that they really have nothing to lose. Whilst obvious that they would love a deep playoff run, the season ending injuries to their squad would have most people considering getting this far, a pass.
For Melbourne, they are expected to win this game. I think they will and I think playing at John Cain is a big factor. The threat to this line is Melbourne’s outside shooting, which has been below average since the midway point of the season.

Value Bet
Edwards would normally have a tough matchup against the JackJumpers but with Magnay out for the season, he gets the slightest of relief in Bannan and Deng.
After the explosive season start for United, they would be disappointed to play through elimination games from here on out. Edwards has been huge for United to finish the season. He averaged 8.5RPG for the year but in his final six games of the season, he was going at twelve rebounds a game.
