The difference maker in Game 1, Davis had a point to prove to anyone who put Bryce Cotton ahead of him in the MVP race.
Davis was controlled and accurate as he scored 25 points and dished out 7 dimes. He shot at 50% from the floor, also making all of his free throws. A +/- of 38, and that’s even sitting the majority of the last quarter, after the Kings made it out of reach before three quarter time.
Adelaide will have to adjust, that means making someone else beat you. The hostile Adelaide home crowd will be in full voice and similar to Nathan Sobey last series, I expect Davis to get booed all night. It’s easy to get overwhelmed in that environment especially if you’re getting extra treatment on every position.

The 36ers are desperate for someone to take some of the attention from Bryce Cotton but I don’t think it will be Cheatham.
He has been underwhelming throughout the playoffs averaging just 21.6PRA over the course of the finals. Although efficient against South East Melbourne, he only managed to clear this line once out of three games and his track record against Sydney is much worse.
This season, he has played the Kings five times including Game 1 and has averaged just 7.4PPG. Coincidentally, he only averages 7.4 field goal attempts per game against them too. That’s just not enough to clear this line, even if he has a monster night on the glass.

Happy to toe the line and play the villain for the 36ers and that’s exactly what they need. They must come out strong, make this a contest and get the Adelaide crowd loud and involved.
Just fourteen minutes in game 1 but the foul trouble was in play, as well as the blowout loss. He has been a mad man on the glass for the majority of the playoffs, including the Ignite Cup Grand Final. Game 1 against Sydney was the first game in five that Rako hasn’t given us double digit rebounds. Adelaide lost everything in Game 1, including the rebound count and I expect Nick and Cheatham to be ultra-aggressive rebounding at every opportunity.
