Miami Heat @ Charlotte Hornets (9:30am)
I know we are taking the stats towards the finish of the regular season with a grain of salt, but Miami was one of the teams still fighting for a playoff spot. They played their season starters right down the stretch, so I think we can trust their minutes and production more than most teams.
In saying that, Jaquez was brilliant to cap off the season. Across his last ten games he averaged 18.6PPG in 27.2 minutes and cleared this points line at 90%. The Hornets have been restricting teams on offence to win games, and that’s what they will need to do to beat Miami, who average the highest PPG in the east.
Portland Trail Blazers @ Phoenix Suns (12:10pm)
Portland come into this game in better form than Phoenix, but will have to win away, with the Suns holding the better record.
As a Boston fan I’ve seen it, playoff Jrue Holiday. The minutes slightly tapered towards seasons end but that’s probably expected before your 35-year-old point guard begins another finals campaign.
6.1 assists and 4.6 rebounds for the season, Jrue continues to do what Portland requires on any given night. The month is still young, but Holiday is averaging 12.8RA for April and I expect him to lead from the front with his wealth of playoff experience.
